    I was pleased to participate on a panel at the American University Law Review Symposium in November. Students were eager to discuss the administration’s use of particular U.S. trade laws and the implications for dispute settlement at the WTO.

    Midwest Corn Growers “Trade School”

    Corn growers know their business and they know how important trading to other markets is to their business. What they wanted to discuss was the broader process of trade policymaking, our history as a trading nation, and how policies targeted toward bringing manufacturing to the US affects them as farmers. What a great group – I learned as much from them as they (hopefully) did from me.

    The American Committees on Foreign Relations launched a Young Leaders Initiative in 2018. The centerpiece of the program is a conference in Washington, DC, for university level students. I was delighted to present on trade and development policy to this incredibly smart and engaged group of students.
