Policy Recommendations to Support Economic Growth

CLIENT: George W. Bush Presidential Center

PROJECTS:

  • North American Competitiveness
  • Global Competitiveness Scorecard
  • Central American Prosperity Project

As a consultant for several years to the Economic Growth team at the George W. Bush Institute within the Presidential Center, Andrea helped facilitate a series of meetings with experts on a wide ranges of topics affecting trade and investment relations in North America. Andrea brought independent research to the project and analyzed options generated by the expert working groups to draft a final set of strategic investments the Bush Institute recommends to boost economic integration and growth in North America. The recommendations presented by President Bush in November 2016 include creating a North American Border Infrastructure Bank and concerted regional efforts to build a talent pipeline capable of filling frontline manufacturing and logistics jobs.

Andrea also produces policy analysis and essays on global competitiveness and regional economic integration in support of the Bush Institute’s innovative Global Competitiveness Scorecard.

As part of a new Bush Institute initiative, Andrea has produced analysis on the state of economic integration in the Northern Triangle region of Central America and provides ongoing support for the Institute’s Central America Prosperity Project, an effort to support emerging leaders in the region and recommend key investments to address financial inclusion, government transparency and efficiencies, and the next generation of digitally-enabled small and medium-sized enterprises.
