    American University Law Review Symposium

    I was pleased to participate on a panel at the American University Law Review Symposium in November. Students were eager to discuss the administration’s use of particular U.S. trade laws and the implications for dispute settlement at the WTO.

    Institute for International Finance Summit

    IIF invited me to speak at their Middle East-North Africa (MENA) Region Financial Summit, where I had an opportunity to present my perspective on U.S. trade policy and sanctions affecting the region to this diverse and expert community of bankers.

    Robertson Fellows Dinner

    The young professionals who attended this panel on the current Administration’s trade policies was well informed and asked provocative questions of the speakers, who had very different perspectives. It was a chance for me to learn more about the Robertson Foundation for Government which is preparing U.S. government leaders of tomorrow.

    Midwest Corn Growers “Trade School”

    Corn growers know their business and they know how important trading to other markets is to their business. What they wanted to discuss was the broader process of trade policymaking, our history as a trading nation, and how policies targeted toward bringing manufacturing to the US affects them as farmers. What a great group – I learned as much from them as they (hopefully) did from me.

    ACR Young Leaders Initiative

    The American Committees on Foreign Relations launched a Young Leaders Initiative in 2018. The centerpiece of the program is a conference in Washington, DC, for university level students. I was delighted to present on trade and development policy to this incredibly smart and engaged group of students.

    2018 Yeutter Institute Symposium

    What a pleasure to be part of the Yeutter Institute’s first annual symposium with Darci Vetter, a former Chief U.S. Agriculture Negotiator and Brian Kuehl, Executive Director of Farmers for Free Trade. It was a warm, smart audience and I look forward to returning to the U-N Lincoln campus.
