Clayton Yeutter served as both Secretary of Agriculture and U.S. Trade Representative. As a University of Nebraska alumnus, he founded the Yeutter Institute at the University of Nebraska to connect the academic disciplines of law, business and agriculture, which he believed would prepare students for leadership roles in international trade and finance, support interdisciplinary research, and increase public understanding of these issues.
What a pleasure it was to be part of the Yeutter Institute’s first annual symposium, along with Darci Vetter, a former Chief U.S. Agriculture Negotiator and Brian Kuehl, Executive Director of Farmers for Free Trade. The engagement from the audience of students, farmers, and Lincoln residents was genuine, inquisitive, and a terrific window into the perspective from the heartland. It was a warm, smart group of people and I look forward to returning to the U-N Lincoln campus.
The campus presentation is accessible on the Yeutter Institute website.
Before the symposium, I was interviewed by Market Journal, also a fun and informative experience. Watch the interview here.
